On Sunday, August 27th, riders gather at 1:00pm at 115th and Figueroa with a 2:00pm kickstand. All riders are welcome.

3. Building 73 (Jordan Downs)
4. Ends: Locol Restaurant

     The Peace Rides happened in 3 cities on Saturday and Sunday!! and they are going to happen again next month!!

 

 

That's right. Over the past weekend we had a Peace Ride in Los Angeles and Peace Walks in East St Louis and Harlem. We have been helping to lower crime in Los Angeles and are expanding across the United States!

February 17, 2013—Now 52 motorcycle clubs strong, including both street bikes and Harley Davidson cruisers lead by Pastor Claude Powe. At the invitation of Councilman Mike Gipson, the Peace Rides travel through Carson. Bikers distribute The Way to Happiness and Million Man March pledge to the communities around Stevenson Park and Hemingway Park as well as Scottsdale Estates. Following the ride, crime rates in Carson drop for consecutive months.

January 21, 2013—On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, 22 motorcycle clubs join with members of the Southern California Ceasefire Association, including Vicky Lindsey, Cynthia Nunn, Taco and Don Juan, along with Compton city officials as the Peace Rides roll through Compton to touch the communities of Lueders Park, Wilmington Arms, Campanella Park and Tragniew Park.

 December 16, 2012—Despite rainy weather, the Peace Rides roll on through Watts, making stops to meet the people of Jordan Downs, Nickerson Gardens and Imperial Courts projects. The President of the LA City Council, Herb Wesson Jr. officially acknowledges the Peace Rides at Leimert Park.

LA County Sheriff Lee Baca supports the Peace Rides

November 18, 2012—LA County Sheriff Lee Baca comes out to show support for United in Peace. Nearly 100 bikers make stops at Darby-Dixon in South LA, Saint Andrews Park in Inglewood, “The Jungle” (Baldwin Village) and Leimert Park. At each location, bikers go door-to-door to involve residents in LA’s new peace movement.

The United in Peace Movement is Born

In July 2012 the Nation of Islam initiates Unity Marches in the urban blighted areas of cities across the United States. In Los Angeles hundreds of the Brothers from the Fruit of Islam take to the streets of neighborhoods seldom visited by outsiders to connect with people of the community in a demonstration of unity and peace. The response is overwhelming. The United in Peace movement is born.
